For our topic ‘All about me’ we will be learning:

·        About the different parts in our bodies.

·        How to eat healthily.

·        About our families.

·        About different types of homes.

·        About how to be a good friend.

·        To understand our feelings.

For our topic on ‘Festivals and Celebrations’ we will be learning:

·        About different festivals that happen in the autumn.

·        About what happens on bonfire night.

·        About different festivals of light.

·        About what happens at weddings and christenings.

·        Why people celebrate birthdays.

·        The Christmas story.

The children in Acorn Class might like to read:

Information books about their bodies, homes, feelings, friends and eating healthily. They might also like to look at books about festivals and celebrations. 

You might like to discuss with your children:  

How people feel at different times and what makes people happy and sad.

Why it is important to exercise and eat healthily. 

Why we celebrate Christmas and other festivals. 

To help with our class work it would be great if you could:

Play number games or sing rhymes for the numbers from 1-20.

Share alphabet games or jigsaws for the letter sounds. 

Share their reading book at home and discuss the pictures and words.
