Our value is peace

These are Oak plans for the Autumn term . . .

 

Our topics include :  keeping hot and cold, exploring friction, comparing Silsoe with Chembakolli, a small village in Southern India and World War II through a child's eyes. We also be creating a visual journey through school in Art and creating a pop-up book ready for Christmas.

We will be examining texts with historical settings, imaginary settings and writing poetry that creates different images.

 

Children might like to read  stories that are set in the past, especially during World War II, as well as texts set in imaginary worlds. Our aim is to broaden the childrens' imagination and vocabulary to enhance their writing.

 

They might like to visit :  Duxford Museum or the Imperial War Museum, alternatively chat with relatives about their personal experiences during war time.
