Our value is peace

At Silsoe school we endeavour to identify prospective pupil numbers to enable more effective forward planning. Parents are therefore encouraged to register their children as early as possible. However the length of time that a child's name has been on the waiting list is not part of the admission criteria for entry in to the school, if the school is over-subscribed as this is prohibited under DFES regulations.

The school will admit 4 year old children in the September after their fourth birthday.

The school will admit pupils from its catchment area if parents choose to accept the place that has been offered to them. However, parents from outside the catchment area can also apply to the local authority for a place. In determining the admission of those pupils the local authority will consider the total number of pupils due to be admitted and therefore parents are encouraged to register their child with the authority as early as possible.

The school will admit up to its standard number which is 27 in each class.

Once all of the children in catchment have been accomodated consideration to out of catchment children will be given using the following criteria:

a) Looked after children

b) On very exceptional medical grounds

c) To brothers and sisters of pupils currently attending the school

d) Distance
