Our topics are:-
Before Half term
Our World
This is all about ourselves and the local world we live in. We will walk around ur village, visit the post office, learn our address and make models and plans of the village. We will also learn about our bodies and our senses. We will learn all about the season of autumn and harvest time.
After Half Term
Light and dark
As the days get darker we will learn about different festivals of light, fireworks and how to keep safe on Bonfire Night, and all about the work of Florence Nightingale and Thomas Eddison. At the end of term we will find out all about Christmas.
Children might like to read :
Fiction and non fiction books about changing seasons and religious festivals such as Divali and Christmas, The Jolly Postman and any Postman Pat books.
You might like to visit : The village post office and any site where the children can see the changing seasons such as Maulden Woods, the Millenium Green or The RSPB sanctuary in Sandy .
